Where it goes
Paste it once on Shopify
The snippet is the same on every platform: one script tag just before the closing body tag. These steps show where that is on Shopify.

Copy your snippet from the dashboard
Add your website under Websites, using the domain you are installing on, and copy the snippet from its Embed code page. It has your site ID filled in; the one shown here uses a placeholder.

Open the theme code editor
In your Shopify admin go to Online Store › Themes, open the ⋯ menu next to your current theme and choose Edit code.

Paste the snippet in theme.liquid
Under Layout, open theme.liquid. Scroll to the bottom, paste the snippet on the line before </body>, then click Save.

Open your storefront
The chat bubble appears on every page that uses the theme layout: home, collections, products, cart, pages and blog posts.
Good to know
- Checkout is rendered by Shopify, not by your theme, so the chat is not shown there.
- The edit lives in the theme copy you changed. If you install a new version of your theme, or switch themes, paste the snippet in the new theme's theme.liquid too.

Will the chat show on the checkout page?
No. Shopify renders checkout itself, without your theme, so the chat appears on storefront pages only: home, collections, products, cart, blog posts and your other pages.
What if I already use Shopify Inbox?
Shopify Inbox adds its own chat button, so you would see two bubbles. Turn off the online store chat in the Inbox app so shoppers see Mewdesk only.
