Where it goes

Paste it once on Framer

The snippet is the same on every platform: one script tag just before the closing body tag. These steps show where that is on Framer.

  1. 1

Copy your snippet from the dashboard

Add your website under Websites, using the domain you are installing on, and copy the snippet from its Embed code page. It has your site ID filled in; the one shown here uses a placeholder.

  2. 2

    Open your site's Custom Code

In the Framer editor open Site Settings and find Custom Code. In the current editor it is its own tab in the settings sidebar; older projects show it on the General tab. Click Add Script, or the + button if you already have scripts, and give it a name such as Mewdesk.

  3. 3

Paste the snippet at the end of the body

Framer offers four positions: the start or end of the head and the start or end of the body. Choose End of <body>, paste the snippet, leave it set to run on every page and save.

  4. 4

    Publish

Framer does not load custom code in the canvas preview. Publish the site, then open the live page in a normal tab to see the chat bubble.

Good to know

  • Whether a site can add custom code depends on its Framer plan. If the Custom Code section is not available on your site, check Framer's current plan comparison.
  • No code component, override or plugin is needed. The snippet is plain HTML that Framer adds to each published page for you.

What you get

The same Mewdesk, whatever your site runs on

The widget lives in its own iframe, so it looks and works the same on Framer as everywhere else.

One script tag

That is the whole install. No npm package, no build step, no plugin to keep updated.

Replies in seconds

Visitors see your answer the moment you send it, without refreshing. Your team replies from one inbox.

Offline form

When nobody is online, visitors leave their email and a message, and the chat picks up where it left off.

No tracking cookies

No IP addresses, no fingerprinting, no third-party scripts. A name, an optional email and the conversation.

FAQ

Mewdesk on Framer

Questions people ask before adding live chat to a Framer site. For everything else, the general FAQ has the rest.

Do I need a Framer plugin or a code component for live chat?

No. The whole install is one script tag in Site Settings › Custom Code, so there is nothing to add to the canvas and nothing to update later. The chat runs in its own iframe, outside your design.

Why don't I see the chat in the Framer editor?

Framer runs custom code on the published site only, not in the canvas preview. Publish your site and open it in a normal tab; the chat bubble will be there.

Can I show the chat on one page only?

Yes. Framer lets a script apply to every page or to the pages you pick, and each page's settings has its own Custom Code section. Add the snippet there instead of site-wide.
